Zygomatic Implants

Management of Severely atrophied maxilla

The atrophied maxilla continues to be very challenging to tackle. Different modalities are utilized in such situations. These can range from bi-lateral sinus augmentation to the use of zygomatic implants to rehabilitate these deformities.

02

Sinus Augmentation

Some patients may told that they are not candidates for implants due to not having enough bone. When this is the challenge in the posterior maxilla the utilization of bi-lateral sinus augmentation can be crucial in restoring function. Sinus augmentation is a predictable procedure that is very well documented in literature.

Implant Bridges

Every patient presents with unique needs and wishes. It is important to have that be part of the treatment plan.

With the advancement of digital dentistry and full arch zirconia use it has slowly become the go to treatment. When patients wish to keep their functional dentition it can make things a lot more predictable. Traditional implant bridges can be used to restore function.

Immediate Implant Placement

Often patients may present with a tooth that is deemed non-restorable. In such cases it is often ideal to place the implant at the time of extraction of the tooth. When in the posterior maxilla a sinus augmentation can also be done at the same time. This shortens the time of being without the tooth and when done right will have just as good or better outcome as a delayed placement. This protocol is very well supported in literature.

06

Anterior Implants

Anterior implants to replace missing teeth can be some of the most challenging due to the aesthetic demands and expectations. Cases like these require planning and management of soft tissue.
